The Position

The Australian International School, Hong Kong (AISHK) seeks to appoint an exceptional leader to the position of Head of Primary.

The successful candidate must be internationally minded whilst possessing a commitment to lead a vision of cohesion and diversity in harmony with Australian values.

The Head of Primary will lead a highly talented, enthusiastic and collaborative teaching team and contribute to a culture of continual improvement at the school. As a member of the School Executive Leadership Team, the Head of Primary reports to the Head of School and works collaboratively with the administration and staff team to lead and manage the Primary School and ensure its development is planned and successfully implemented.

They will work closely with the Head of Secondary and Deputy Heads of Primary and provide clear and open communication to all primary staff.

The successful appointee will offer significant senior leadership and management experience, strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrable track record in cultivating innovation. A commitment to contributing to the wider development and strategic direction of the whole school as a member of the Executive Leadership Team is essential.

The Head of Primary will be expected to positively promote the school to the wider community and deputise for the Head of School as required.

The starting date for the position is January 2025.

Deputy Head of Primary

The Position

The Australian International School, Hong Kong (AISHK) seeks to appoint an exceptional leader to the position of Deputy Head of Primary.

The successful candidate must be internationally minded whilst possessing a commitment to lead a vision of cohesion and diversity in harmony with Australian values.

The Deputy Head of Primary will work alongside a second Deputy Head in leading a highly talented team of educators and contribute to a culture of continual improvement at the school.

There are two Deputy Principal roles in the Primary School. The successful candidate will be required to oversee either the Lower Primary (R to Year 2) or Upper Primary School (Years 3-6) based on the skills and expertise.

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding educational leader who is passionate about learning, teaching and setting high expectations for every student, whilst modelling exemplary teaching and leadership practice.

The starting date for the position is January 2025.

Supply Teachers

We are seeking substitute teachers who are committed to excellence in teaching and have a passion to support student success.

Our school runs an Australian curriculum based on the Southern Hemisphere with our school year running from January to December. We recruit substitute teachers throughout the school year to cover Reception to Year 12.

We only employ qualified applicants who:

  • Hold some form of teacher training (B.Ed., PGDE or PGCE with a university degree)
  • Are a Hong Kong Permanent Resident or holder of a dependent visa
  • Pass safeguarding checks (current SCRC if based in Hong Kong, recent National Police clearance from their home country or a current Working with Children check)
